I found this nice WordPress plugin, WP Multi Language Changer from Evaldo Junior Bento, which enables the switching of a post’s content to different languages through a single click.
Just click on the en (English) and id (Indonesian) icons on the top of this post to try it out.
Example: This is in English. Is it in English? Yes, it’s in English!
I had to tweak the plugin a bit to suit my wants and needs –it’s originally configured for English and Portuguese– but thanks must go to Evaldo for providing this plugin in the first place.
It’s quite simple to use: Just wrap the contents in divs with a class of the language you want, and there it goes. The plugin uses Javascript, however, which might not suit purists of web design (and accessibility). But it works for me now, and we can always iron out any problems.
So just remember: If you see some language icons on the top of a post, then it’s bilingual. Enjoy! :)
Baru nemu plugin untuk WordPress, WP Multi Language Changer dari Evaldo Junior Bento, yang memungkinkan kita gonta-ganti bahasa yang dipake di postingan kita hanya dengan sekali klik.
Coba aja klik ikon en (English) dan id (Indonesian) di bagian atas postingan ini.
Contoh: Ini dalam bahasa Indonesia. Apakah ini dalam bahasa Indonesia? Ya, ini dalam bahasa Indonesia!
Musti agak2 di-utak-atik sedikit –plugin-nya aslinya buat bahasa Inggris dan Portugis– tapi salut buat Evaldo yang udah nyediain plugin ini.
Pemakaiannya gampang aja: Lingkupi aja isi postingan pake div dengan class bahasa yang dimaui. Plugin in tapinya pake Javascript, yang mungkin gak cocok buat para pengikut ketat standar desain (dan aksesabilitas) web. Tapi udah cukup buat gua, dan bisa lah sambil diperbaiki.
Akhir kata, inget aja: Kalo liat ada ikon bahasa di bagian atas sebuah postingan, maka postingan itu pasti dwi-bahasa. Selamat membaca! :))
